Heihachi would then host the first King of Iron Fist Tournament, offering control of the Zaibatsu to the tournament's winner. Knowing that Kazuya would inherit the Devil Gene from his mother, Heihachi threw his five-year-old son off the cliff under the guise of proving himself as a true Mishima and finally taking over the Mishima Zaibatsu. Unfortunately, Heihachi discovered that Kazumi possessed the Devil Gene, and that her clan had ordered her to kill him because of his future ambitions, forcing Heihachi to kill her in self-defense. When he was younger, Heihachi tried settling down as a family man, falling in love with a young woman named Kazumi and having a son named Kazuya. Heihachi Mishima was the CEO of the Mishima Zaibatsu, a giant and powerful multinational conglomerate responsible for much of the world's military arms production.
